Oral, Periodontal and Dental Exam

On your first visit to Pearl for dental cleaning in Vancouver, you will be asked to fill out a health and dental history that we will review together. If you have dental insurance please bring it with you.

Prior to dental cleaning, the examination will include a thorough examination of the oral tissues, an oral cancer screening, a measurement of the health of your gums and the recording of any existing restorations or enamel defects.

Scaling and Root Planing

Your dental cleaning will involve the removal of harmful hard deposits on your teeth, also known as tartar.

Dental Polishing

After scaling and root planing are completed, a polish is recommended to remove any remaining plaque and surface staining.

Fluoride Application

Fluoride is applied to the teeth after the polish to help mineralize the teeth and protect against cavities.

**Please note, all services included in the cleanings are offered if you WANT them and nothing is mandatory**

WE ARE ACCEPTED BY INSURANCE PLANS

We do not bill your insurance directly. We believe it is important for our clients to be fully aware of what is being billed to their insurance companies. This is why we collect payment upfront for your cleaning, and then we will submit your claim to your insurance company so that you can be directly reimbursed. We show you the exact claim we will send to your insurance company before we send it, so you know exactly how much you have used from your insurance and how much to expect back. Don’t worry, no paperwork for you, we take care of all the paperwork, you just wait for a cheque or direct deposit!

If you do not have insurance, we take an additional 10% off your dental cleaning service.

REFERRALS

We have a referral base for highly recommended dentists when additional treatment may be needed. If an issue is detected, further steps are only taken with your participation and at your request.
